Matthew brings a strong analytical foundation and a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, combining deep scientific training with experience in healthcare investment and advisory environments.
After completing his PhD at Queen’s University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where he gained valuable insight into pre-clinical and clinical scientific research, Matthew joined HaloHealth, an early-stage Canadian angel investment group. There, he applied this expertise across healthcare venture verticals while supporting due diligence, market assessment, and the development of investment and advisory materials that integrate clinical, technical, and commercial risk considerations. Through this work, he strengthened his business acumen, deepened his understanding of the healthcare market, and expanded his professional network.
Matthew is an appointed healthcare mentor at Sandbox Centre Barrie and serves on the Investment Review Committee for the McMaster Student Seed Fund.
