Mark has over 25 years of experience as an investor, both professionally and personally, in a variety of industries and asset classes.

After entirely spending 20+ years in senior leadership and investing roles building a highly successful institutional middle market private equity organization in Toronto and New York, Mark resigned to spend the next portion of his career on a variety of activities with a variety of organizations. As an investor, Mark invests personal capital in select lower middle market businesses and certain non-private equity asset classes. As a value-added advisor, Mark sits on several operating company and philanthropic Boards as well as on Investment Committees and Advisory Boards for select private equity investment entities.

From 2000 to 2021, Mark held various senior leadership positions at ONCAP, the North American middle market private equity platform of Onex Corporation, in both Toronto and New York.   Mark joined ONCAP as one of the four initial founding hires responsible for identifying, analyzing, negotiating, executing and monitoring North American private equity investments on behalf of ONCAP I, II, III and IV, cumulatively representing in excess of $2.5 bn of equity capital, 30 platform investments, 150+ add-on investments, and over twenty investment professionals with offices in Toronto and New York.  Mark has served as a Board member or decision-making partner or senior/strategic resource to many entrepreneurs and management teams. During his tenure as one of the senior leaders at ONCAP Mark also led and was involved with various aspects of ONCAP’s internal processes and activities as part of the firm’s growth.

Prior to joining ONCAP Mark held private equity positions at Lehman Brothers in New York and J.H. Whitney & Company in Connecticut.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
