Derek has more than 25 years’ experience advising and collaborating with C-level Executives and Boards on business strategy, operations management and efficiency of business operations. Derek has worked extensively with SaaS and I/T business models, among others, and his experience spans contact centers, global supply chains, outsourcing models, engineering, customer service, and distribution and logistics.
Derek most recently worked as Senior Vice President of Operations at 360insights, a global leader in sales channel incentives and analytics on a SaaS platform. Derek was responsible for delivering scalable operations to achieve ~40% Y/Y growth from claim entry through payment with high performing teams in Program Launch, Adjudication, Risk and Compliance, QA, Finance, and in-house and outsourced Contact Centers.
From 2013 to 2019, Derek was Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Supply Chain at ATX Networks, a market leading global provider of broadband access network, video and radio network solutions serving the cable, satellite, commercial and enterprise sectors. While at ATX, Derek led the integration and optimization of ATX Networks’s Operations and Supply Chain and was part of the Executive Leadership team that facilitated a Private Equity buyout transaction and two significant US acquisitions that doubled the size of the company.
Prior to his time with ATX Networks, Derek spent 20 years in increasingly progressive positions with Celestica Inc., a global leader in design, manufacturing, supply chain and hardware platform solutions, culminating in his role as Vice President, Global. As one of Celestica’s prime Customer executive management resources, Derek managed all activities for 5 of the top 20 key accounts generating ~US$80-$350 million in per annum revenue, with operations and customers in North America, Asia, Europe and South America. Derek was accountable for overall strategic, sales, business development, financial, supply chain and operational performance in assigned global business units, interacting with a multi-cultural, international team and customer base in a highly competitive, cost-conscious industry.
Derek is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and is a Licenced Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.
