Clariti Strategic Advisors™ (“Clariti”) are pleased to announce that Mr. Rik Parkhill has joined us as a Managing Director and Head of our Strategic Advisory practice, which focuses on advising our clients on their business strategy and matters of strategic importance. Rik is based in Toronto but spends much of his time with clients within and outside Canada. His prior advisory work and clients encompass asset managers, venture funds, insurance companies, banks, financial technology companies and stock and derivatives exchanges.
Rik has over 30 years of experience running diverse businesses, including banks, brokerage firms and securities exchanges. From 2008 to 2015, Rik was a senior officer with CIBC and its affiliates. Rik joined CIBC in Toronto in 2008 as Managing Director and Head of Cash Equities. During his three-year tenure in this role, CIBC became recognized as the Canadian leader in equity trading and equity capital markets, and its equity market share tripled. From 2011 to 2015, Rik was Chief Executive Officer of CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, a full-service relationship bank operating in 18 countries across the English and Dutch Caribbean, with US$12 billion in assets and market capitalization of over US$2 billion. Rik was responsible for the development and execution of a multi-faceted plan that resulted in the turnaround of the bank’s operating and financial performance.
Prior to joining CIBC, Rik held several senior executive positions within a number of financial services firms, including the TMX Group, Research Capital, BZW Canada, Deacon Morgan McEwen Easson and Jones Heward.
Rik serves as a non-executive director on the boards of Sagicor Financial Corporation, Sagicor Bank Jamaica, Anaergia Inc. and MacCormick Inc.
